This is my admittedly clumsy attempt at picking up a few plot threads that have been on my mind ever since I watched this movie countless times on cable TV as a kid back in the day.
I certainly don't claim to be anywhere near as talented as the author of the original book or the people behind the movie adaptation. And, of course, it's the actors' voices and performances from the 1971 film that I have in mind when writing these characters.
