Executions had always been a cruel matter, and she could not fault the man for trying to prevent it, but since he was pretending to be a Warden, it would have been a far more reasonable action to continue dissembling and simply conscript the prisoner instead. It would have been far kinder to the Inquisitor who had given him a chance for redemption.
It was that which she found so unforgivable, and what she had been reflecting upon as they had ridden out of the gate.
