Today Shane Hollander is going to die, ominous sure, but uneventful more than anything. It really was a shame, he figures there are definitely more interesting avenues at which ones life could end, starving to death locked in a dorm doesn't seem very story worthy, it lacks some jenesaisquoi, or x-factor Shane had always assumed would be incorporated into his death, bleak right? But then again his peers have probably had a much worse fait, because lurking behind the very door keeping Shane in his room-the door that all at once was killing him just as much as it was keeping him alive-are creatures he can't even begin to name.
And there are thousands of them.
So he considers himself luckey, well maybe not luckey, dying of hunger in a small room a virgin didn't really scream luck, it might not have been the worst way to go but it was definitely up there, just a above being beaten to death, between being skinned alive, and right below whatever happened to his classmates. He sighs partially excepting his fate while also being to emaciated and tired to do anything about it.
