Summary
Beacon has changed. Enya Brightborn arrived as an outsider, rotated through teams, and found a new home with RWBY - only for that home to be baptized in blood. More has happened than Ruby could have ever expected: her family has been thrown into disarray, and old enemies have been revealed as older friends. Throughout the tumultuous second semester, RWBY, JNPR, and Penny have found themselves slowly dragged into the Clan's shadow war.
A shadow war that Adam Taurus has forced into the light.
The White Fang's last-ditch attempt to reclaim Blake saw old alliances rekindled and new ones forged in the fires of battle. With Roman Torchwick's defection, Adam's attack ended only in failure and the Fang's near-annihilation.
But victory came too late to stop Cinder Fall.
Even with her teammates captured and her allies betrayed or defected, Cinder escaped into the shadows with half a Maiden’s power and a successful sabotage mission that bodes ill for all of Remnant.

Pyrrha Nikos has survived the battle of Vale and become the Fall Maiden. Now, with the CCT down and Beacon in ruin, she has returned home to Mistral, with her beloved Jaune Arc by her side, ready to do whatever she can to assist her city, kingdom and people.
Mistral could use the help. Professor Lionheart's treachery has slashed the numbers of available huntsmen, grimm and bandit attacks are both on the rise, and what is worse, the Council of Mistral is meeting this situation with... deadlock and deliberation.
While the Council dithers, and the Imperial Guard defends the city walls, Pyrrha and Jaune, joined by old rival Arslan Altan and new friends Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie, take a bold new step, founding a company of mercenaries as a way of fighting the rising darkness without council sanction.
