L pressed his forehead against Light's, carefully analysing every minute change of expression on his face—he was about as flustered as he expected, "Don't tell me you've never kissed someone before? You do know what this game is, yes?" L teased, moving his hand to grab his chin.
"Of course I have! I've always been popular with women, why would you ever think otherwise?" Admittedly, this came out slightly more defensive than Light had planned; L was by far the most likely one out of the two to have not kissed anyone, not him.
"Well, if you're such an avid kisser, why are you blushing? This should be commonplace for you, no? All those girls wanting you is probably where some of that God complex of yours comes from," L said, inching closer to Light's lips; close enough to feel him breathe. And exactly where we wanted him.
OR
L and Light end up playing 7 minutes in heaven, and L takes this as an opportunity to get a confession.

What does being a god entail? So much corruption occurring yet is there meaning behind everything? Especially what does morals mean when all you do is follow the one you admire most?
Light Yagami and Chase Sato were childhood best friends. Light was always perfect and had a privileged life with loving parents and a great sister. Chase was average but still always tries to catch up to Light during studies.
They both have the same morals in terms of justice, right? The justice system is corrupt and many people get punished without fair trial. At least, that is what Chase always believed in. He wanted to try to make a career that has laws involved. From a lawyer or detective, he would love to make a difference. Light has the same motivations, right?
Then one day, the news of Kira has been out in the news and while Chase couldn't help but to be fascinated, he also felt a put in his stomach. Something didn't feel right.
Will Chase remain the same, or grow to stand on his own feet, especially if it means going against the man he loved and admired

This is not a heroic tale.
I recently ordered the novel Death Note: Another Note, in which Mello begins to document L’s cases for posterity. That inspired me to revisit the Kira investigation as well, retelling it in a slightly altered form from Mello’s perspective.
In doing so, Mello describes what he considers to be L’s greatest mistake: a dark fascination with Light Yagami — the one who embodies Kira and, for reasons L himself cannot fully explain, comes to provoke his deepest fixation.
