After awhile, Quackity’s henchman- it seemed Charlie was his name- returned to pull Tommy away to tour some arcade or other and left the two alone. As the two laughing voices faded into the distance, the pleasant look from mere moments before vanished from Quackity’s eyes.
“So why are you actually here, Wilbur?”
“Whatever do you mean? I was merely curious to see if your recent change in- let’s say, perspective- had at all impacted your measures as a leader.”
“Bullshit. The Wilbur I know never acts of merely curiosity. No, there’s something you want from me.”
“Right- I guess you can’t simply visit an old friend because you wanted to see them.” Wilbur started to slowly inch closer to Quackity as soon as Tommy and Charlie had left- he took a noticeable step now and watched as Quackity pulled back and quickly glanced down at the rings he wore.
“Aren’t you supposed to be dead?” Earlier’s smirk returned to Wilbur’s face as his next words formed on his tongue. In this game of roulette, the gun had just fired its last blank.
“Aren’t you supposed to be engaged?”

Slow updates, really slow updates, like it takes me at least 6+ months to write a chapter that is not so bad (but its short) (I struggle with motivation...). I think I will eventually rewrite this, the first chapters are almost 2 years old and my english and writing skills were pretty bad back then and I guess I really improved since 2021...

"I— I'm not being petty, I'm not," he chokes out a small laugh to cover his nerves. He was losing what he'd earned again. He was getting fucked over again. Quackity forces in a slow breath. "What makes you think I'm being petty exactly?"

He was awful, he was horrible, he did so many awful things. But he remembered Quackity. He remembered being tipsy at Niki’s party and kissing Quackity, the other man’s cheeks dusted in a light pink. He didn’t regret that night at all, but he wished there had been more time, if he had allowed more time, for the feelings he had for his rival to be explored. Because there was something between them, a gentle kindredness that Wilbur never experienced with anyone else. It made his time during Pogtopia that slight bit more bearable. And yet it wasn’t enough.
