It was too much time. His body felt like it was going to shut down on him, even when he’d force his eyes open they’d inevitably close.
The scurvy symptoms were new, sudden and scary. It started with minor leg pain that turned into an all encompassing ache deep in his bones that made moving an uphill battle. Grace wouldn’t come to the conclusion it was something as medieval as that until the red spots began showing on his arms. “Come on,” he remarked to himself through a pained chuckle. “Do you know how stinkin’ hard it is to get scurvy with modern technology?!”
Rocky spent most days just sitting there with his companion, as close as the ball would allow. “Grace body not resilient at all. Humans are so weak.”

This is mostly a character flesh out to get into a story I want to write that borrows the Linked Universe idea…but likely with different characterizations and pulling Links from different times after their adventures in some cases. I’m hoping writing this and capturing the characterizations I want to use will help spur me onto creating the larger fic.
