A lot is going on as the Titan army gathers support from half-bloods, giants, and supposedly minor gods alike.
Hestia remains at the hearth, tending the home fires of the godlings- whether their parents are involved in their lives or not. Her brother Hades remains aloof, keeping Demeter and Persephone both by his side. Poseidon stays in his underwater palace, fighting against the sea. Hurricanes, typhoons, and earthquakes rage as the monster Typhon wakes and begins inexorably crossing the Continental United States.
Oh, and there are also a bunch of teenage demigods, supposedly led by fifteen, almost sixteen-year-old Percy Jackson, whose greatest accomplishment might be giving sass to a god, but neither his D average at school nor even his prowess with a sword are going to help him figure out the best way to beat the Titan army.
He needs the help of a son of Hades and potentially a mortal for that. And he has to learn from all of his -often horrific- dreams.
But curses are known as curses for a reason, and even apparent necessity doesn't negate the presence of a curse or its power.
