For a Hound, victory is only a numb gap between hunts. A temporary ceasefire, to recuperate their forces before the next push. Enough time to repair mechanized chassis and for Hound 06 to have to reckon with itself. So early into its conditioning, thoughts and memories plague the poor Hound.
Lucky for it, its Handler is there to steer it right, and has something which will greatly improve its combat performance - a fresh roster of replacement pilots.
In order to adjust to the expectations of a pack leader, the Hound needs to be reconditioned - and to fix something you often need to break it again.
The girl Hound 06 used to be still exists. She is allowed to know she exists, for brief periods under Her instructions. The nightmarish draw back to the surface allows her Handler to set to work moulding her into the ideal beast.
This time, Her exercise is simple; she is allowed to exist as herself for as long as she chooses, until she begs her Handler to let the Hound devour her.
