Summary
After a bout of concerningly realistic, violent dreams of his own mutilation, Kung Lao is suddenly struck with a looming sense of paranoia regarding his future. As a guardian of Earthrealm in training for the upcoming conflict against Edendia to save their realm, he struggles with the seemingly endless psychological torture these dreams bring him in tandem with his day to day responsibilities. Liu Kang notices the young Shaolins' struggle, but in his attempt to assuage his worries, feelings he thought he’d long since buried begin to reappear.
While Liu Kang struggles to aid Kung Lao’s troubles, another man, a sorcerer by the name of Shang Tsung, offers his assistance. Unknowingly, Kung Lao aligns himself with the very man who intends to endanger their realm, but, when Shang Tsung scrutinizes the others’ past a bit too thoroughly, he finds himself far more invested in his life than he originally intended.
Kung Lao, overwhelmed with insomnia, paranoia, and the appearance of emotions he never expected, is reassured by the god’s studied words but allured by the sorcerer's candied tongue, making it difficult to discern benevolent omissions from malicious deception.

Summary
After Flambae and Invisigal pull a particularly cruel prank on their boss, Robert suddenly goes missing without a word.
Toxic, under orders from Shroud, seeks out Robert Robertson and takes him to a facility where he is tested on. Shroud is working on a serum, derived from Sonar's DNA, that is supposed to turn the affected into mindless beasts for him to control. But, when said serum is tested on Robert, he only gains an unquenchable hunger for blood and a seemingly unending amount of pain. Toxic is happy to toy with Robert, allowing him to suffer on his own and giving him no other choice but to come crawling back to him. But, when the Z-team is sent to search for their colleague, Flambae is shocked to find that something far more sinister has come over Robert than they initially believed.

“H-here I’ll just…” Waterboy said as he reached his hands up and tucked them under the hem of Robert’s underwear and pulled them down, releasing the other’s length from where they were hidden beneath his clothing.
