They had never spoken, never even seen each other outside of their apartments, but Anthony knew for sure that he was absolutely gone for this angel. He didn’t even know where the other man’s building entrance was. It wasn’t on his street; that was impossible. At first, he had wanted to walk around the other building, in the hopes of accidentally stumbling upon the man. But he had realised that the last thing he wanted was to become a real-life stalker, so he settled on only glancing over at the window across from him every so often.

Frustrations grow between them as there is nothing they can do and nothing they can fix. A hard talk has to take place soon, but it might break the both of them.

“You didn’t come home last night.”
Dick jumps at the voice, nearly dropping the juice, surprised to see Bruce standing in the kitchen staring at him with a furrowed brow.
“Hey B.” Dick greets, setting the juice on the counter. “Are you okay? You’re not normally up yet?”
“Why didn’t you come home last night?” Bruce repeats, ignoring Dick’s question. “Did something happen?”
Dick opens his mouth, about to tell Bruce all about his run in with Tim, to ask if he’d heard anything about the Drakes recently. Then he takes a good look at Bruce and the question dies in his throat.
Dark circles carved deep into his face, scruffy unshaven face, gaunt cheeks, and worry clear in his dull eyes. Bruce had been worried about Dick, worried another son had just disappeared without a word. The guilt felt like it could swallow him whole.
“Patrol ran late.” Dick lies. “I ended up crashing at one of the safe houses.”
