"...as I said...everything..." His entire body felt like his flesh was tight and overstimulated. Today had been the first time he'd taken bed rest to heart, as he hadn't been sure he'd be able to get up on his own. Now he felt a desperate desire of wanting to be held and cared for, the pain slightly spiking when the need wasn't immediately quelled.
Ramonde helped him sit up, taking a spot next to him to rub his lower back. Emory leaned against him, ears pulled back as he groaned at even the bit of movement making him motion sick. He felt his hand be taken, Ramonde using his free hand to reach over and stroke the dark knuckles with his thumb. There was a slight thump of Emory's tail against the bed as Ramonde kissed his temple.

PS: du fehlts mir.Wie versteinert starrte Esther auf den Bildschirm. Der Gedankenstrudel in ihrem Kopf drehte sich so schnell, dass sie kaum einen zu fassen bekam. Verlobt mit Christoph also. Das war keine Überraschung, die beiden waren schließlich schon als Teenager zusammengekommen. Nach all der Zeit spürte sie das dumpfe Ziehen in ihrem Brustkorb sogar kaum noch, und doch schien es, als wäre die Erinnerung daran genug, um sie aus der Bahn zu werfen.
Esther hat sich aus ihrem Heimatort losgeeist, ihr Studium läuft gut und sie hat gute, neue Bekanntschaften gemacht. Doch eine nächtliche, vermutlich betrunkene Chatnachricht genügt, um ihr mühsam erstrittenes, seelisches Gleichgewicht wieder ins Wanken zu bringen.

This book is an attempt to piece together the journey and time spent together of the renowned band Percy Jackson & The Six and how they rose to fame– as well as what led to their abrupt end.
Over the course of my time researching, I had the privilege of interviewing all band members and many of those associated with their success. I’ve conducted these interviews individually of their time and experience with the band and its rise to fame. The following oral history is compiled and edited from those conversations, as well as relevant transcripts and lyrics.
While I aimed for a comprehensive approach, I must acknowledge this proved impossible. Some potential interviewees were difficult/near impossible to track down, and some were more forthcoming than others. This book serves as the first and only time the members of the band have commented on their history together. However it should also be noted that, on both matters big and small, some accounts of the same event differ.
The truth often lies, unclaimed, in the middle.

Jamie has spent most of his life trying to explain why home feels wrong.
The problem is, nothing ever sounds that bad when he says it out loud.
His mum worries because she loves him. His dad is only joking about his weight. His stepdad is just supporting his wife. The raised hand never actually lands. The silent treatment only lasts until tomorrow. The counselling stopped because Mum didn't think it was helping. The comments about being trans are concern, apparently. Every incident has an explanation.
But explanations don't erase patterns.
From age five to seventeen, Jamie grows up caught between parents who genuinely believe they are doing their best, a family that keeps pulling him into adult conflicts, friends who don't understand until they witness it themselves, and years of trying to become himself while everyone around him keeps insisting they know him better.
There are good memories too: Christmas trips to London, film days with Mum, Hogwarts Legacy with his stepdad, and chaotic Monopoly nights with Dad and the older brother he lost for over a decade.
That might be what makes it hardest.
Because Jamie loves his family.
And they still hurt him.
