Every step sent chills crawling up his spine, shadows flickering at the edges of his vision, ash-like spores drifting lazily through the gloom.
He called Eddie’s name again, but only silence answered. His legs ached, throat raw, and his hope felt threadbare. Every instinct whispered to stop, to turn around, to leave—but he couldn’t.
He had to find him.
