Again, Optimus didn’t answer, just continued to look at his counterpart with sadness in his optics.

It has been years and Megatron is still bedevilled by Orion Pax, just as much as Optimus is haunted by the memory of D-16.
Despite their efforts to bury these bygone selves, their pasts can resurface in twisted ways and when a sudden, unexpected explosion traps them both in a cave, they are forced to confront this inner conflict, though they fail at it miserably.
Ultimately, they face a conclusion neither anticipated, which goes to show: even the worst can bring out the best in another.
