After Daeron awakens after a sinister dream where he saw his Blue Queen Tessarion dead with arrows piercing her eyes and the words Only Death pays for Life, he is quickly told his dragon has just laid her first clutch of eggs. In his excitement he goes to see them. This action has far reaching consequences where he learns of the plot to bring down the dragons, poison dragon eggs and eventually usurp the Targaryen Dynasty. Unable to bring himself to truly trust anyone in his family he runs away to Essos. Along the flight Tessarion finds her soul mate Seasmoke and insists they stay there for a while. While Daeron waits for his dragon to be less distracted by a pretty face he is found by Laenor who is visiting his dragon. Laenor now has a kid who refuses to go back to his family and is eventually believed dead. What will a dead father do with a dead son.
