NOVEMBER 6TH, 1986
In the three years since Will Byers went missing, the town of Hawkins has been under constant threat of the creatures from the Upside Down. But now, eight months after Vecna has ruptured a giant rift through the town of Hawkins, that threat is about to reemerge. Unaware of Vecna's true plans and trapped under a military quarantine, our heroes will not only be forced to face the greatest evil from the Upside Down, but also overcome impossible odds, in order to save their town, and each other, one last time.
Written in a SCREENPLAY format, this fic operates as a diverging conclusion for the final season of Stranger Things.

In D&D, a good DM will let you choose the path of your story. The opposite is known as railroading your players – no matter what they choose, they always end up following a predetermined path.
Mike has always felt like his life is being railroaded. Even when he was a child. Even when he became an outcast and was friends with outcasts. Even when he got involved with the supernatural side of Hawkins. Even when it got put under quarantine, trapping them all in this suffocating small town.
After the Mac-Z, the Party's plan to kill Vecna goes sideways, and Will is lost to his own mind. Mike can do nothing except fight his inner demons at the end of the world, all while overhearing some conversations not meant for him.

Nancy Wheeler is frustrated at being a woman. In Concord MA in the aftermath of the civil war this means everyone wants her to drink tea, and be polite, and generally do nothing of interest. However, when she turns down her long time childhood friend Steve Harrington's offer of marriage, it makes her more determined than ever to not fall in love and work out how she's going to make it to New York to be with her aunt and become a famous author. But, at some point, she becomes aware of the older brother of her younger brother's best friend, who works as a farm hand and annoys her with his rough manners. Somehow, he becomes weaved into the fabric of her life as one of her best friends, and in the end she has to decide if she wouldn't actually like it to be that much more.
OR, I watched Greta Gerwig's Little Women and couldn't stop thinking about Jo March/Nancy Wheeler parrallels and how perfect it would be for her to fall in love with the scruffy farm boy, Jonathan Byers.

Eddie frowned and his head swivelled around when he heard the shout. Whoever that was, they didn’t sound happy.
He took a drag of his cigarette, before dropping it to the ground, scrubbing it with his foot, and started to move. Leaving behind the building’s shadow as he made his way further out into the parking lot, shifting between the parked cars of the Hideout as he followed the sound of angry voices.
He paused as he came around the side of a car, his surprise at the scene in front of him making him freeze, Steve Harrington was possibly the last person he expected to see in the Hideout’s parking lot at 11pm.

The beginning of a new season brings not one but two surprises for Lord Steven Harrington, the Ton’s most notorious rake.

The two then fell in love and maintained a secret summer romance, which, for unexplained reasons, ended when Will moved to California. Then, a few years later, when by chance they end up roommates at NYU, it forces them both to confront their pasts, both individually and together.
