Summary
Clark doesn’t have cause to be in Gotham that often, it’s a city in good enough hands of its own, and it seems that Batman fella fidgets with some urge to violence whenever people discuss his hometown. The defensiveness is perhaps understandable—Clark’s earliest memory of cable news is Mill Baher arguing the welfare state needs to pull out of Gotham, nothing can be salvaged, and that popular narrative of Gotham City as an eternal No Man’s Land has lasted Clark’s whole life. That’s about the only thing anyone’s managed to wring out of Batman; tell a rotten joke, make an erroneous comparison, and this guy will appear out of nowhere and threaten to put you through a window. Misquote a Gotham housing statistic in Batman’s earshot and he spawns six feet away, squared up and ready like a territorial boar. Who knows what Batman would think of someone showing up physically inside of the city without a bat-hall pass. The guy might quit the League’s reserve entirely.

Summary
“You alright there, sweetcheeks?” the redhead asks slyly. She shifts forward on her sculpted forearms, intrigued. The sheer audacity is met only with Harrow’s dumbstruck expression.
Harrow’s throat feels impossibly arid and tacky, almost to the point of pain. Rendered speechless by pseudo-eye contact. A slightly less overt invitation to banter might have involved fanfare and a formal inquiry written in script. Flirting is not a wholly unknown concept to her, but still daunting nevertheless, the beginning of a ten mile hike. The brief point of contact had been the first step. One, hopefully, that would be the beginning of many.
Instead of embarking on the second step, Harrow turns on her heels and briskly exits the cafe.

Summary
Flying back to Cherry Street, weaving reckless in the dark, it comes down to this: Dick is the only one of his siblings that Jason has any real claim on. Dick is the only one of that whole mess of victims to Batman's cult of self-immolation who belongs to Jason. Even more than that - Dick is the only person in the world who he shares a parent with, who knows what it meant to be the Robin to Batman of nearly ten years ago.
It's just not the same anymore.
So if Dick fucking kicks it, Jason's the only one left. Jason becomes an only child. Jason becomes the last of his kind. Jason becomes the sole keeper of that memory, of a brotherhood shared under a man who no longer exists. There is no way to replace Dick, because the world that they lived in together is gone, and can never give Jason a surrogate.
The Red Hood pulls the thread on a mystery big enough to bridge the distance between two cities, two brothers: The plot they unravel is far deeper and darker than a garden-variety drug trafficking scheme. A story about siblingship, hauntings, and rivers.
1. Ostium, osti(i): Latin noun, II Declension: Door, opening; (river) mouth; entrance (to the underworld).

Summary
It’s hard to stay cynical in the face of Clark Kent and his relentless optimism. Looking at him there, still in his button up shirt from his business trip, sleeves rolled up, still focused even though it’s pushing midnight, she feels a warm, steady wave of fondness in her chest.
She wishes they could do this every night. Not the pulling a furious all-nighter right after someone tried to murder her – that part she could take or leave. But it would be nice to spend every evening with Clark. She’d always told herself she liked her space, but being with Clark was like having space and having company rolled into one.
Her highly caffeinated, sleep-deprived brain catches up with the implications of that thought process, and she thinks, shit.
After years of pining after an alien demi-god who is, much as she hates to admit it, miles out of her league, Lois realises she's caught feelings for her co-worker. Unsure whether or not to tell him, she seeks advice from the most sensitive guy she knows - Superman. Things don't go as she expected...

Summary
“Jason!” Batman had shouted, arm desperately outstretched as if to catch what was no longer there. He’d sounded wrenched apart. As though having experience losing this one of his several sons made no difference at all to the shock and pain of it, or even made it worse.
Blood hadn’t been the one he meant by that name. So he’d stayed silent.

He smiles, all teeth, “Come on Replacement, I even got to the door with both legs busted. This should be nothing.”
“You’re right. Jason… Jason wouldn’t have given up. He would fight, I can still—“
The boy wobbles, and Jason has to suppress the mortifying impulse to jump to his aid.
“I can still fight. Batman needs me.”
“That’s a terrible idea,” he muses aloud, and if there’s a hint of real concern somewhere under all the roiling green, well, nobody can prove it.
