    For as long as he knew of belief, Seawatt did not believe in God.

It feels as though the world is holding its breath, waiting (just like him) for what's about to happen next. Something is about to change and the anticipation is filling the atmosphere. It's somewhat overwhelming, probably because this time, he will be the one changing.
