The Otherworlders never came.
In 1941, facing economic sanctions from the United States, the Empire of Japan resolves to go to war and opens hostilities against the US, Britain, the Netherlands, and Australia. While the Southern Operation and the attack on Pearl Harbor mark the beginning of the conflict, the Magitek Research Department, which had been preparing its military forces against a possible invasion from another world, finds that no such enemy appears. Instead, it joins the war as part of Japan’s military strength.
The Magitek Research Department revives warships sunk during World War II—including the battleship Tosa, as well as Bismarck, Hood, and numerous aircraft carriers and other vessels—using technologies and magical techniques from another world. Armed with these resurrected weapons, it sails the world’s oceans in battle against the Allied powers.
Thus, this alternate World War II follows a path different from that of real history…

Mais malgré leurs spectaculaires prouesses, les assauts de ces guerriers spéciaux semblent inefficaces. Zack, un jeune étudiant banal, dénué de tout pouvoir surnaturel, a décidé de combattre ces robots lui-même après avoir assisté à la mort de ses deux amis sous leurs tirs mortels. Il se retrouve vite confronté à bien plus fort que lui, mais l'intervention de Nash, un Veilleur maniant une faux écarlate, lui épargne un tragique destin. Zack se rend rapidement compte que Nash sait certaines choses concernant les origines des automates assassins. Et Nash, en voyant que certaines machines visent Zack en particulier, suppose qu’elles trouvent un intérêt en ce garçon pour des raisons qu’il ignore encore. Les deux hommes décident donc de collaborer, dans le but d’éradiquer la menace mécanique planant sur Eden. Seulement, est-ce que les décimateurs représentent le plus grand danger ?
