Two fingertips touched his forehead.
Dennis stopped. It took him a full five seconds to understand that Robby had brought his index and middle fingers together and tapped him lightly between the brows—once, then again. Robby usually touched his shoulder or the back of his neck.
This was new. The gesture was over almost as soon as Dennis registered it, yet his back went rigid with a shiver too quick to hide.
For one impossible second, he could have sworn that touch felt like a mouth pressing to his forehead.
His face went hot. And Robby moved on.
English isn’t my first language. New chapters every Friday (and some other day of the week)—allegedly, because I haven’t actually finished writing this fic. In my defense, writing about the doctors on The Pitt is far more interesting than becoming a doctor myself.
