Summary
The light still doesn't make sense against his eyes, but he thinks he remembers something like color. There is a lot of color around him, and he is able to discern white and black and a great deal of something else. It's a breathtaking splash of vivacity on a new canvas, where there had been no canvas at all for so many eternities. It is the most beautiful thing he has ever seen.
Red, Xie Lian finally names it.
-
In a disorienting turn of luck, Xie Lian is rescued from State Preceptor Fangxin's coffin. He recovers his other senses in good time, but his sight is taking longer to return—decades with no exposure to light have weakened his capacity for it.
His benefactor and worshiper, a wealthy and eccentric ghost named Hua Cheng, hasn't left his side for months.

Summary
No one in their right mind would ever seriously try to woo Lin Ronghu, the Emperor's infamously ruthless (if unofficial) spymaster.
Not that that's stopped the local legend, a (self-described) beautiful detective with peerless martial arts. His crush is a major inconvenience - at least until there's a murder that puts Lin Ronghu's most hated political nemesis straight in the frame. Since Lin Ronghu can't believe that anyone would be that stupid, he decides that maybe having a private detective around might be good for something after all...

A Prime is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to… give or take that one small paracausal nudge.
Or, that time the Matrix got impatient and stole a truck...

✔️ Optimus Prime being iconically wholesome
✔️ Cybertron being an exotic mechanical wonderland
✔️ Mystery, adventure, and intrigue

The pale beauty on the bed swallowed the bowl of medicine without complaint and handed it silently to the eunuch by the bed. Leaning dizzily against the wall, Zhou Zishu fought yet another bout of nausea, trying to keep down the thin congee that he’d forced down his throat in the morning.
“Wangye,” the eunuch, Qiu Bin, said, sounding uncomfortable.
“Leave.” Zhou Zishu closed his eyes.
“Just… your bride should be on the way. Since the Emperor has refused to postpone the wedding—”

Summary
2395, Stardate 72842.7, 19:10, and three of Starfleet’s newest ensigns are huddled together on the couch in pristine new uniforms, each with a single shining rank pip. They’re not talking anymore, but the silence is a comfortable one. Like him, they’re keeping watch. They’re wondering when they will see this again, so many of their family and friends gathered together in celebration. Ben could tell them the answer, of course. He could look into all their futures. He won’t, because if he does, the present may be lost to him forever, and the present is all that matters, in the end. But the present is made of pasts, because that’s what linearity means.
Or, a study in the myriad ways children are influenced by experience, circumstance, and the adults around them (sometimes in ways those adults didn't intend).
