“…Mn.” The ice demon’s eyebrows lifted a tad, indicating he was in a good mood. “You’ve promised before, after all.”
“Eh?”
“That you’d follow me for a lifetime.”
Taken aback by the repeat of words he’d said in the past—many times, in fact—though he really hadn’t ever been that sincere in saying them, which made Mobei-jun suddenly reciting them as if they’d left a deep impression on him all the more surprising… It made Shang Qinghua’s face grow hot again.
Or: that time Mobei-jun brings Shang Qinghua with him to his succession ceremony, except Shang Qinghua doesn’t put his foot in his mouth.
