“Kang Taehyun,” he challenged confidently. “And why are you here, wearing a café employee’s uniform?”
For the first time since Beomgyu had known of the boy, the latter visibly tensed, tearing his gaze away.
“I think you’re the one who doesn’t know of our school rules.” Beomgyu grinned, waving his phone at Kang Taehyun like he was a matador, tempting a charged bull with red. “Should we find out what happens if I show this video of you working to the principal?”
Kang Taehyun regained his composure so quickly, Beomgyu almost second-guessed the prior sight of his fleeting hesitance. His large, piercing eyes were downcast in a disbelieving frown. “You’re lying.”
“What’s this? Is our proper little council president suddenly scared?” Beomgyu smirked, leaning back into his seat and folding his arms smugly.
Or,
Beomgyu and Taehyun have been enemies since day one of high school, and discovering Taehyun’s secret (and definitely impermissible) part-time job may give finally Beomgyu some leverage over him. But Beomgyu inadvertently ends up discovering an entirely different side of Taehyun which is not so bad after all, and possibly even lovable…?

He’d be a hypocrite if he doesn’t admit that he’s somewhat attracted to Kai, and there’s no other reason for his physiological responses and newfound obsession with all things Kai. His nose would be longer than the Nile if he says he doesn’t spend hours each day scrolling through Kai’s private account, looking through photos and videos of them together at work.
Alas, he’s both a hypocrite and a very optimistic man. There must be an alternative reason as to why he’s been turning into a jittery blushy schoolgirl around his very tall and handsome friend, right?
Or, Beomgyu starts viewing Kai differently after the younger saves him from death by a basketball to his face. He's convinced it's due to everything else except that he might have feelings for Kai.

Kai’s voice startles them all a bit. He’s been uncharacteristically quiet, hasn’t spoken in a little while, to be honest, long enough that Beomgyu almost forgot he was there.
“You what?”
“I’ll play the game with you, I don’t care, really.”
There’s another collective groan; of fucking course he will, someone says. But Beomgyu’s too busy staring at Kai. He looks so unbothered, like he just asked Beomgyu to hang out or play a video game together, nothing out of the ordinary.
Beomgyu just isn't satisfied with the pepero game results and wants a rematch. Thankfully, Kai's here and always ready to help.

It probably wasn't sensible.
The difference between idol mode and variety mode was very real, but Kai figured it was all the same in essence; cameras meant work, and they were all performers.
But it was present like a little voice in the back of his head sometimes, that urge to push, to do something. To admit to something, bald-faced, that would otherwise be classed as the deepest of his secrets, safe in the knowledge that it would be taken as a joke.
“I adore Beomgyu,” he declared.

Kai is unexpectedly met with one of the most beautiful smells he's ever encountered.
He pauses to inhale deeply, taking in a big whiff, and he feels like he could melt on the spot. It smells like he's walked right inside an entire bakery, like he's surrounded by loaves of spiced breads, hints of browned butter and sweet honey shining through. It's so warm and cozy, it almost feels like he's walked straight into a hug.
Kai smiles as he breathes it in. It's exactly what he's been needing. A nice, big hug.

“Yeah. That’s what you wanted me to do, right? When you said ‘I want that twink obliterated’…?”
