Well, that was nice. But it probably didn’t mean anything.
Rose didn’t really know why, but something inside her was desperately urging for Svetlana Vetrova to simply like her.
Everything she had seen of the woman radiated this cool, indifferent and extremely beguiling energy. A mysterious, kind of sexy vibe that Rose had been trying to embody herself her whole career, but never quite managed to capture or maintain authentically.
The reason why she felt so drawn to Svetlana, was probably because she was someone who had that exact vibe going for her and seemingly didn’t even have to try hard at all. Svetlana looked like a fucking movie star. Rose wanted to look like that and she was a fucking movie star, for god’s sake.

“I signed with the KHL team.” He says quietly. “I start practice tomorrow.”
His father watches him for another second before nodding once. “Good.” The word came out flat and there’s a pause before his eyes narrowed slightly again. “You’ll stay useful that way.”
Useful. Not talented nor successful, but useful. The word settles heavily somewhere inside Ilya’s chest because that’s all he’s ever really been in this house. Something to control and to turn into proof that his father could create perfection if he hit hard enough or yelled loud enough.
Ilya Rozanov leaves his country with a single goal: to build a life where no one gets to control him again. Ottawa is supposed to be that. Boring, yet a solid reason for him to leave the life he had in the coldness of Moscow.
What he didn't expect was all the chaos that follows as he put his life on the line to get on that plane, or the beautiful freckles on Centaurs' newest captain that haunts his dream.
