The relationship between Mike Wheeler and Will Byers has always been something of an oddity.
If Mike is a bit too handsy while the party tries to enjoy a movie night, a stare or two may be thrown their way, but never are they questioned to any degree. This is how they have always been, uniquely bonded Mike and Will.
Dustin may have his internal questions, like, why is Mike being handsy with Will instead of his beautiful girlfriend, the one he seems so intent on staying with, when she's right there? Why doesn't Will think twice about the hands touching his waist, or the arm around him at all moments?
These questions will come and go just as fast, never to be said aloud.

Mike lets out a shaky breath at the sound of Will’s voice, “you think?” Mike responded weakly, this behavior was completely new to Mike, this wasn’t confident New York Will anymore, this was different. And Mike liked it, maybe too much.

He didn´t plan to, didn´t think at all, but he tightened his own hold around his friend´s waist and reciprocated the kiss, moving his lips much more softly, calming Will until the boy pulled away.
