Chuuya didn’t open his mouth to explain, he simply continued staring through Ranpo. Dazai looked at his partner, noting the distant gaze of his eyes, all the tells in his body language that wanted to run, that wanted to fight. All the tells that showed he was resigned.
“Or you could tell us why your name was all over every single document we saw, I bet we could piece it together from that.” Ranpo continued, leaning back in his chair.
“Nakahara, all intel should be shared if we have any chance of defeating our shared enemy.” Fukuzawa stated, his voice steady and remained authoritative.

"I can think of a few other things I'd be interested in drinking," he said, his voice a silky murmur. "If you're offering."
As she reached into the cabinet for the tea, Elena smiled despite herself. This was more like the Damon she remembered. They had played this game countless times before, and it was infinitely easier than the silence.
