The angels came and got Cas out of Purgatory, but they forgot to lock the door behind them. Benny has been guarding the rift they made, trying to make sure nothing gets out. When a monster gets past him, he chooses to follow it out and kill it himself, rather than risk letting it hurt someone on the other side. By pure coincidence, a hunter and freshly-turned werewolf named Garth is nearby, and they take down the creature together. Garth is kind, brave, and funny, but he’s also clearly lost and struggling in the wake of his turning, needing a shoulder to lean on until he gets his feet back under him. Benny was intending to go straight back to Purgatory, but he’s always been a sucker for a hunter in distress.

This is one-shot written for my collab partner tallula03 who was my team mate in SPN Bang Bang Reverse Bang 2024 and between us we've established a modern setting AU polycule of Gabriel, Kevin Tran and Sam Winchester.
