Hunger? Obsession? He doesn't want to know.
After the trial, he goes home. Everything is back to normal (with the exception of Acme) But his little road runner is not running.
OR
Wile E. Coyote realizes and finally admits to some things that Road Runner has assumed to be their norm for 70 years. They "talk" about it.

Ever since that day Wile E. Coyote came back to the desert, Road Runner developed some kind of weird separation anxiety in which, if he wasn't out of his cave by midday, the bird would hover around his cave, beeping, kicking rocks, stealing stuff, or throwing tantrums until he went out and chased him. Yet, in the end, Road Runner wasn’t bouncing impatiently on his toes or angling his body for another sprint like he always did.
Now he stayed, staring directly at him with those enormous blue eyes that seemed to be demanding something.
What, Wile had no idea.

Summary
After his first few adventures with Sonic, Tails accompanies him on a flight over the islands where they find one of Dr. Robotnik's logistical Facilities. It appears to already be abandoned, left to be steadily washed away by the sea, which makes sense considering the beatings Robotnik has suffered recently. Inside however, Tails is cut off from Sonic and soon finds himself facing Dr. Robotnik alone. This shouldn't frighten him, he's already four and a half years old! Yet somehow an old lingering anxiety toward looking up at those taller than him grips Tails. This doesn't help him in the argument that ensues with Dr. Robotnik.

Summary
For the past year or so, Doctor Eggman's antics have gotten more and more intense despite all the grace he has given him. Sonic isn't sure much more rope he can throw. Their current adventure has been full of twists, turns, and close scrapes, but devoid of any kind of answers. As they enter their final battle, Sonic, Tails, Shadow, and Amy have no idea what they're up against.
Eggman has gone too far.
A story mainly focused on developing and exploring the characters and their relationships because its fun. Sonic is at the center of it all due to his role in the inciting incident that was the straw that broke Sonic's back.
This fic mainly follows Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Shadow, with Knuckles and Rouge as supporting cast. Sage, Eggman, Metal, Orbot, and Cubot have some chapters to themselves as well! :D

So when when the three of them had been sitting in the living room during a rainy morning, Maddie and Tom at work, Tails tinkering at the table with some gadget, and Knuckles reclined into the back of the couch flipping through a good book and he saw his brother’s eyes light up and feet become restless…he really should have known.
