Summary
Nancy knew that Steve could hold his breath for a long time.
When they were dating, it seemed to be a constant point of pride. He’d tell anyone who asked that he’d made it four minutes one time, and it only took two times of him saying it around her for her to ask him to prove it.
They’d timed him in his backyard, and she’d never quite forgotten the goofy smile on his reddened face when the timer did indeed tick past four.
Jonathan she’s not so sure about.
…
Or, Spring Break 1986 turns out to be the shittiest week of these guy’s lives, and they’ve seen a lot of shit

Summary
Robin had nearly convinced herself in the last week that the mall really was an alternate dimension, one that had now been permanently destroyed both in reality and partially in her mind.
That was until Steve called to invite her to a movie night at Jonathan Byers’ house.
...
Or, one week after their disastrous last shift at Starcourt, Steve and Robin face some unexpected consequences while trying to navigate their new friendship.

Summary
Robin pushes her hands into the oozing wall of the gate. Once they’re through, she starts grasping for the ground she knows is on the other side. She gets hold of something, so she uses it to pull herself further in until she feels the shift in gravity.
Her body lurches forward, tumbling blindly into dark air.
She screams, grasping at the blackness around her and finding nothing to hold onto.
There’s the loud clanging of a grandfather clock in her ears, ringing against her skull like she’s inside of it, or it’s inside of her.
And then, finally, she lands on a mattress.
…
Or, Robin gets stuck in a time loop of the night they try to kill Vecna, and everyone keeps dying!

Summary
Nancy reached out, brushing Steve’s hair from his face. She had to keep reminding herself that he wasn’t hers anymore.
She’d ended that, tonight actually. Though, if she was honest, it had ended a long time ago.
His words from earlier tonight echoed in her ears.
"I may be a pretty shitty boyfriend…"
Yeah, she thought, you were. Sometimes. But I wasn’t much better.
...
Or, Nancy takes a turn hiding someone in the basement.

Summary
In the dream, Jonathan was falling.
It was not the first time he’d dreamt of the radio tower.
For days now his sleeping mind had trapped him there, racing and panting and sweating as he climbed to fix the antenna.
Jonathan wished these were nightmares. He wished that when he looked down, he saw monsters racing after him. Wished that when he looked up he'd see Nancy or Will dangling from the edge of the top platform. It was a fucked up thing to wish for, he knew, but he hated that the most alive he'd felt in two years was while he was racing up a radio tower with a boy he’d hated since high school.
This dream was not like those. It was cold and fast and soaked with dread.
It was knowing nothing except the roar in his ears and the certainty of the ground below ending his life.
Even weirder, he was holding Steve Harrington's hand.
…
Alternate version of Operation Beanstalk where Jonathan and Steve fall down the radio tower and Jonathan has to take care of an injured Steve, leading to some honest conversations between the two of them and some sparks Jonathan doesn’t quite understand yet.
Jonathan’s POV throughout.

Summary
Eddie flinches awake, heart kickstarting in his chest, fear zapping into his limbs like an electric current.
He fell asleep, he realizes, and the terror of it claws its way up his throat like a slimy, rotten tangle of vines. He fell asleep and when he opens his eyes it'll be to find Steve floating under the ceiling again, to find Steve's mangled corpse on the bed, eyes sucked from their sockets, face twisted in an eternal, grotesque scream, it's too late and he fell asleep, he fucking fell asleep while-
Steve is awake.

Summary
At first, it’s just squirrels.
Well. Saying it’s just squirrels is like saying in a thunderstorm, what’s coming down is just water: it’s not the substance that’s remarkable, it’s the amount.
So, then: at first, it’s a lot of squirrels.

Summary
Billy Hargrove doesn't keep his promise to Max. He doesn't keep it in a pretty spectacular fashion, actually. Instead of staying away from her friends, he murders one of them.
Unfortunately for Billy, Hellfire meets right after basketball practice. And fortunately for Steve, Eddie knows CPR.
(Or: There is a clearly defined set of steps to keep someone's heart beating. There's no guide for the aftermath. Steve, Eddie, and everyone they love write one together.)
