Summary
Martha's exasperation drains away quickly when she sees him. The first thing she notices is how dishevelled he looks, his coat and suit jacket missing, his hair mussed far beyond his usual intentional way, more like he'd been pulling on it, hard. And most worryingly of all, he's just standing still, barely a couple steps from the TARDIS, all lost and worn down with slumped shoulders and a blank stare.
The Doctor needs a Doctor. Martha is up for the task.

Summary
It's a slow hug, not like their adrenaline fuelled celebratory ones, when he lifts her off the ground and she clings on, jumped up on the high of them both still being alive and largely unharmed. No, this is an embrace optimised to last. It doesn't take the Doctor long to start relaxing into it. He does so incrementally, but that's alright. Martha is in no rush.
"I almost killed you," the Doctor whispers. "I almost killed you and here you are, holding me."
After the events on the Pentallian, Martha comforts the Doctor and he allows himself to accept her help.

Summary
The Doctor drags in a gasping breath of air so thin in oxygen it barely does anything to replenish his supply, even with his system's supreme efficiency of binding it. He's dazed, disoriented, vaguely nauseous and throughly miserable. The air is its own form of torture, making him cough, but really everything hurts. He can't find it in himself to be surprised at his prior relinquishment of life, if this is how it feels.
The Doctor needs Martha to keep him alive. There is no way for this to end well.

Summary
I definitely won't complete Febuwhump this year (2025) but there's a couple prompts that caught my eye and I intend to eventually get around to writing at least some of them, so I wanted to put those prompt fills in one place.
2026 edit: once again not going to be a completionist but I plan on getting more done than last year
end of febuwhump 2026 edit: wow the series tags got long. If I participate in 2027 as well (which I want to, the only thing that'd keep me from it would be lack of free time) I'm gonna make a new series.
