something something bruce offhandedly mentions being autistic and it's like a record scratches as his kids turn to him with expressions varying from "how the fuck did i not know" to "why the fuck did you not tell me." there's the beginnings of an argument because, well, it would've made communication a lot EASIER if they knew.

He was very aware of the kind of bullying a newly-orphaned kid might receive, but it had never been anything like that."It was the 80s, they used the more outdated term. “Batman…”
Diana was the one who approached Batman first, her lasso glowing in her hand. “We are sorry.”
A long pause. Then a dry, guttural sound escaped the Bat. A cruel chuckle, so full of rage it was waiting to spill out like a raging river.
"Is that all? After all the shit you threw at him, you're coming after him with your tail between your legs?," the Bat said, angry and Clark's eyes widened.

Verso doesn’t bother knocking as he lets himself into Gustave’s workshop. He, the apprentices, Lune, Sciel, and Emma are the only ones allowed to bother Gustave when he's dans l’atelier with the door closed, as close to KEEP OUT as Gustave ever gets. It’s not a privilege Verso takes advantage of lightly, but the weather developing outside the Dome—weather that’s been brewing since before dawn—has him leaning on it now.
Or: Verso helps Gustave forge through a migraine--he's something of an expert at it by now, and he's not sure what that says about him. (Just hurt/comfort and Verso having Verso feelings.)

Compared to before, where they had had to have an active deterrent committee in case some of the stronger Nevrons risked swimming across the sea, none of them would risk it now.
However, that didn't protect them from the smaller Nevrons that could go from a nuisance to a true threat if they ended up banding together.

It comes out almost pleadingly, the desperation Gustave tried to suppress for months now bleeding into his voice.
Something softens in Verso’s expression.
Or: the Maelle ending. Coming to terms with being brought back and repainted. Gustave is looking for some answers, so he goes to the one person who can provide them. Verso is absolutely done with this life, but feels obligated to at least talk to him.
They find that being a copy of a dead man is less unbearable when you're not alone.
