    Summary

Earth was supposed to be dead.

A reeking shithole of toxic pollution and garbage, a kingdom of refuse abandoned by humanity centuries ago. Simon wasn't even supposed to be here, by all accounts, he should've died with his crew when his ship went down. Instead, for the past six years he'd been surviving by the skin of his teeth, thinking he was completely alone.

    He thought wrong.

After an encounter with an impossible and mysterious young girl, change ripples through Simon's perspective and its waves wash him right into the arms of a clumsy, blue-eyed scientist who understands him better than anyone ever has. Now, after all these years alone, he realizes—

He doesn't just want to survive. He wants to live.

Faced with the loss of everyone he loved, and the threat of impending prophecy, Arthur must learn what it means to be not just a king, but the Once and Future King. Merlin does all he can to guide him, even as he struggles to hide his love for his king, and his fear of losing him again.

The stranger pressed against the far wall, curling in on himself. His chest heaved. Bandages covered most of the left side of his face, partially obscuring one eye. A wolf in a foxtrap, teeth bared and ready to snap.

After living for a few years on Erid, Grace and Rocky decide to see what other life exists out in the universe. The last thing they expected to find was a human hurtling through the Sirius star system in a welded sub.

aka, Simon wakes up on a strange spaceship and has to face the fact that he survived the blood ocean.

    Summary

There's 1 in 70,000 people on the planet who have the gene needed to survive the Hail Mary's expedition. In that limited pool, 1 in maybe 1000 had the necessary skills needed for the mission — more dire still, even less people were willing to volunteer for what is essentially a suicide mission.

When an explosion killed not only their science officers but also their engineers, Eva Stratt makes the tough decision to put 2 people on the spacecraft that no one was expecting to be even be candidates.

One is a middle-school science teacher.

One is a convicted eco terrorist.
