Summary
So, the general idea of this fanfic is that Chara never commits suicide and because of it they are still alive when the other humans come to the Underground.
They still hate humanity, but nevertheless aren't willing to commit suicide as they don't wish to leave their family behind, even if that selfishness means Monsters remain trapped in the Underground.
Then four years into their era the second of the eight humans arrives to the Underground, the one who arrived didn't trust Monsters and had in fact come to confirm whether the first human was dead, the fact that they weren't may be the only reason some peaceful resolution can be attained one day...unlikely, however.

Gaster watched the magic readings. They were high, but that was needed for this project. The CORE poured energy and magic into the glass bioreactor. The surge of pure energy began to buzz into the room. Electricity sparked around them like a thundercloud. There stood a monster. There was power in the way he held himself with his chest out; the kind of respect one might have for a bonfire. His form was perfect in every way.
Gaster took at step towards him. “We did it,” he gasped in his font. Then he turned to Alphys and excitedly signed, “We did it! We made a monster!”Aka: Gaster Frankenstein's an elemental (Grillby), but uh oh! he's hot!

Gaster made a plan. It was a stupid plan with little thought put into it and what started out as something that was only meant to keep him occupied over the course of a few months; became a lifelong commitment and he's not sure if he's okay with that.
After slicing a whole in his hand and impregnating himself with the altered DNA; doctor Gaster thought that this would be a fun way to study his colleagues behaviors; but he failed to think about what he was going to do when the subject was actually born.

This is a Handplates?Gaster x Monster!Fem!Reader; (Gaster's design is more akin to 'og' Gaster, so weird shaped 'skull' and straight crack lines). This is slow burn, and I mean it, it'll take a lot of time for them to completly commit. We also have found family :3 I didn't add fluff tag yet, but yes - there would be fluff. No smut, at all. First 3 chapters have wingdings in text, latter on I changed it due to broken formatting. It's also my very first try at 2 PoV.

Gaster has made remarkable progress. He's made it to the surface, far, far away. He has survived falling into the CORE, survived going through hell, and resurfaced in one piece somewhere in the grand arctic. For many miles, there are no humans in sight. Just him, the wind, the snow.
He curates a family of his own. Two sons; two little soldiers, two little assistants. They're the cutest. He feels his life coming back together, connecting piece by piece. His bigger picture. One step closer to liberating monsterkind.
Then, he falls back into the CORE. His creations then proceed to also fall in there with him, and the two end up somewhere with eight other skeletons while Gaster slowly gets shredded to death. Weird how that works out, huh?
