“How do you defeat an enemy who has seen every possible outcome, every branching timeline of your existence?
How can you stop the Anomaly?These are the problems Sans first faces when he arrives in the world of Undertale.
After narrowly escaping the Roaring in Hometown, Sans and his brother, Papyrus, find themselves stranded in a strange world with even stranger physics.
With the imminent threat of an ‘angel’—a term Sans is unfortunately all too familiar with—coming to the Underground to ‘free’ monsters from the world, he makes a promise and a plan to save the Underground from this brutal fate… finding out a bit too much about the time anomaly that pervades the world’s clockwork in the process. To defeat it, Sans only ever gets one shot.

Sans looked at the ceiling in pure boredom, unable to sleep as he listened the guards opening the gates of the inmates one by one. It didn't take long for him to hear a guard slamming his club against the bars of his cell.
He'd been told a doctor wanted to do check up on all the inmates, so he didn't really question it when he was forcibly pulled out of his cell so early.
Being pushed around wasn't fun, but at least it was exciting to meet new people that weren't convicts. They had a tendency to be assholes and not appreciate his humour anyway.
"Sans?"
He saw you, with half on your face covered by a mask as your eyes squinted in curiosity.
You were looking at him so intensively, it almost made him feel uncomfortable.
"Please, have a seat."

Chara continues to let out his anger on Cross and Cross has given up hope of escaping. When they have an epic fight ending with both of them hurt and alone, they can think. They both made mistakes, suffered, and want the same thing-Xtale's ressuraction. They are all each other have and need to get along or atleast work together. When Ink starts showing up, they have the chance to escape into the multiverse and earn their happy ending.
