On shaking legs, Eddie slowly stood up and turned to face Dustin again. Though he had been expecting it, Eddie felt a punch in the gut as he took in the image before him. He saw himself, lying in Dustin’s arms, covered in blood. His eyes were wide open, staring into nothing. Unblinking. Eddie could feel bile rising in his throat. That was him. His body. Summary
Steve and Robin get a two bedroom in Hawkins. It's perfect, except for all the ways it isn't. Drafty windows, clogged drains, shitty landlord. But it's got a couch. A couch that's often occupied by Eddie Munson. Home isn't really the kind of thing Eddie has much of anymore, ever since his trailer became the primary source for all his nightmares. Luckily, he knows of a semi-comfortable couch where he's always welcome.
Despite all it's problem, the house has perks. Primarily, it's somewhere Steve can actually call home. Secondarily, it's somewhere he can share with the people he loves.

In the aftermath of everything, Steve is confronted with the reality that he has no idea what he wants, or how to even try to figure that out. He's still dealing with the pain, nightmares, and fallout from their hellish spring break, just like they all are, and the last thing he wants is to be a burden. He never expects the answers to all of his questions, or the soothing of all of his fears to come from such an unexpected source, or for that to open him up to the possibility of finally gaining a family.

"Evidently not." Eddie says, gesturing a lazy hand over himself and trying a sharp-toothed smile but mostly just looking exhausted and scared.

If you told Steve a year ago that Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson would become a regular at the Harrington household during the summer of ‘86, he would’ve told you that’d be impossible. But that’s just how things go in Hawkins. The impossible never actually seems to manage being impossible. Exhibit A: Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson is now officially one of the gang, and truthfully Steve’s still trying to figure out how he feels about that. And he doesn’t seem to be alone in his ambivalence. Eddie meshes well with almost everyone else in the group, but he still doesn’t seem to know what to make of Steve, which—well, it’s not like Steve’s feelings are hurt, per say, but it certainly doesn’t help the awkward tension he feels whenever they accidentally find themselves alone in a room together.
---Eddie confuses Steve. Steve frustrates Eddie. They're complete opposites, which is why they're finding it so hard to navigate the tentative friendship between them, right? Right. It definitely doesn't have anything to do with the way Steve can't seem to stop staring at Eddie or the way Eddie's foot seems to find its way into his mouth every time he talks to Steve. Nope. That's definitely not the issue.

Pain.
Horrible,
indescribable pain.Red hot burning along his torso, his neck, his heart pounding in his ears.
He could feel hundreds of tiny teeth ripping at his flesh through his jacket.
He couldn’t breathe; felt like his eyes would pop out of their sockets. Pressure building in his skull.
He clawed desperately at the leathery tail around his throat.
The world seemed to blur away, slowly turning black.
And suddenly he could breathe again. He gasped desperately for air, his lungs burning. He rolled over to his right side, coughing violently, the movement making his wounds burn.
“Eddie!”
He lifted his gaze from the ground toward the familiar voice. Dustin was running, hobbling, toward him screaming his name desperately.
Eddie could see all around him bodies of demobats lying lifeless in the dirt.He tried to calm his breathing but couldn’t catch his breath enough to shout out an answer. Instead he lifted his left arm with his thumb pointing upwards to signal Dustin he was okay. Mostly just to calm the boy down, because he knew his current state of well-being was far from thumbs up worthy.

The ground shook and split as ash rained from the sky. It was over. Vecna had won. The slippery bastard had beaten them at their own game.
And then Steve was somehow back in his bedroom. No explanation, no warning. He had no idea how he ended up back in ‘83, but by god he had three years to try and change the tide and he wasn’t going to waste them. And hell, maybe he'll get to that whole 'thrown back in time' thing eventually.
This is a fair warning to anyone who wants to read. I haven’t actually watched the first two seasons in years and never put myself through three and four. Love Robin and Eddie and Erika but it’s just not the same. So if you see something and say hey wait a minute that’s not how it- shh. Hush. Silence.

A moment to breathe. Away from their responsibilities. Away from Hawkins. These were his three favourite people. And they deserved a little normalcy.

Eddie really thought he was going to die facing Vecna during the final battle, sacrificing himself for the crew. In this belief and among the chaos, Eddie Munson confessed to Steve Harrington about the crush he had had during high school.
“There you go Stevie, you were my stupid high school crush,” he said with a sad smile before running towards Vecna.
The little problem in all of this was that Eddie didn't die that day. Once Vecna was defeated, he was forced to live with one more intense stress in his life each time he came across Steve "the Hair". Harrington.

The gang decide they all deserve a break and head to Steve's family beach house for a week, featuring copious amounts of fluff, found family bonding, blurring (or completely ignoring) the line between platonic and romantic, and bullying being considered flirting.
