“I’m surprised Hollander hasn’t tried to drown you in a Pensieve yet,” said Marleau, three weeks into their new arrangement. “No offence, Rozy, but you’re a fucking nightmare at the beginning of a new op.”
Ilya glared, but didn’t argue. His working theory was that the lack of immediate danger made him restless and irritable. Cliff’s theory was that Ilya had a certain capacity to be a pain in the ass, and, much like a liquid, would fill that space with new irritating behaviours if placed in a too-calm environment.
“It has gone better than expected,” Ilya admitted. “Hollander has not done so many covert ops, but he has more field experience. He sees problems I would not think of.”
Cliff grinned at him. “Well, if there’s one thing Hollander’s good at, it’s pointing out problems you haven’t noticed.”

“What—no—I don’t—” Steve’s brain felt sluggish, stunned by the force of Billy’s full attention.

“No?” Billy cocked his head like a dog, smirk spreading a little wider.
“Pretty sure I can call you whatever the fuck I want,” he breathed, gaze flashing blue and dangerous under lazy, half-closed lids. “And you’ll take it.”

“Fuck.” Shane melted into the strong hand at his neck, the pressure over his throat and the heat of the Alpha’s palm. “Fuck, that’s–” his eyes started to flutter closed, his knees going weak, but he heard the Alpha huff a laugh and immediately stiffened again.
“Don’t do that.” he warned. “Don’t laugh like me letting you put your hand on my throat is predictable submissive Omega behavior and you're making fun of me."
“That is not why i was laughing.” Ilya squeezed Shane’s throat lightly, his thumb pressing over the suppressant patch covering the Omega's bonding spot and blocking his sweet scent. “I thought you would fight it, fight submitting. But you didn’t.”
“No I–” Shane swallowed hard. “I like it.”
“Good.” Ilya smiled slow and a little dangerous, running his tongue over his bottom lip and then over the sharp ends of his fangs before he leaned in and growled into the Omega’s ear. “Now get on your knees.”
