Summary
Curt wakes up feeling congested and feverish, and promptly ignores it. He has shit to do. Showering cools him down and leaves him capable of breathing out of his nose again, and by the time he’s reached the hotel breakfast, he’s shivering instead. That evens out to being fine. Probably.

Summary
He doesn’t know how Curt puts up with him. Even after everything Owen made him endure, he came back and saved him, and he's been rewarded with this. A grown man who can’t sleep through the night and wakes up needing to be coddled because of how sad he is about the atrocities he’s committed. It can’t be what he expected, and Owen doubts it’s what he wanted.
“Do you regret it?” he asks hoarsely. He can’t see Curt, but there had been a soothing hand on his back as he retched, and a glass of water sits on the lip of the bathtub.

There’s sweat dripping down the back of Owen’s neck, but he can’t stop to wipe it away. Stopping would mean losing the little advantage he has. He’s been running for a long time – he can tell that from the way that each step sends shocks up his aching legs and each breath burns his lungs like red-hot irons and his palms are scraped raw from tripping and pulling himself upright. None of that matters as long as they can still get to him.

Curt’s wandering through Toulouse, waiting for further instructions and for his hangover to wane, when he glances into a window and spots Owen in a cafe with a corner booth and a newspaper. He’s got a good view of the place, a secure position, and a comfortable seat – it’s a spy’s dream. It must be Owen’s dream, too, judging by the way he closes his eyes and relaxes back into his seat after sipping his drink. It’s not often that Curt gets to see Owen that serene.
“Didn’t know you were here,” Curt says, cheerfully settling himself into the seat opposite Owen without asking. Owen doesn’t blink at the intrusion.--

Whitaker gulps down a mouthful of water too quickly and coughs. “I slept fine,” he says hoarsely. Trinity raises a skeptical eyebrow, tossing the balled-up paper towel between her hands. “Really,” he insists. “It’s been a while since I’ve slept without keeping one eye on the door.” He ducks his chin again, all “gee, shucks” farmboy sheepish, and the tops of his ears are pink. “Thank you for…all of this. It really means a lot.”
The earnestness makes Trinity want to poke meanly at his stomach until he curls over it protectively. She squeezes the paper towel tighter instead. “Whatever. I had the room. It’s no big deal.”

Ted chuckles sleepily as he picks grass out of Trent's hair. "Gonna have to shower later on, sweetheart," he yawns into Trent's forehead. "You look like you went twelve rounds with Katie's Bad Boy."
"As opposed to two rounds with my own," Trent yawns back, and falls asleep to Ted's delighted gasp of, "Trent Alexander Crimm, well I never."
