Summary
No, there was no way. Like seriously no way. He’d just been thinking about Will a lot recently. Will was far too shy to pose for pictures like this. He just… wouldn’t do that. Not his Will. Mike would just find the page again and prove it was someone else. He would open the magazine and see a stranger on the page, and everything would be fine.
As he flipped back, he prayed to a God that he didn't believe in. Please, let that model be a stranger.
Or:
How gay is it to jerk off after stumbling across a suggestive picture of your old best friend? Maybe it’s excusable. Suggestive is suggestive, after all. And everyone can agree that Will is a stunning dude.
But actively searching for more suggestive content of your old best friend, and spending half your rent money buying his porn? Yeah, that’s… pretty gay.

Summary
“We’ve only got two weeks left before you have to leave,” Will mumbles, threading his fingers through Mike’s, who is trying his best not to cry. “What are we going to do?”
Mike inches closer to Will, wrapping his free arm around him. Will instinctively rests his head on Mike’s shoulder. “I don’t know,” he answers truthfully. “But we’ll figure it out, won’t we?”
OR:
When Mike Wheeler's parents tell him he needs to move to Lenora to live with the Byers for four months during the summer to get his act together and curb his bad behavior in Hawkins, he thinks things couldn’t possibly get worse.
That is, until he meets their son, Will.
The more time they spend together, the more Mike realizes that living in Lenora might be the least of his worries.

Summary
Will smiled back, soft and sweet, like he always was. It was, all in all, the same smile Mike had grown up knowing as well as his own reflection. It was Will's teeth peeking through the slight pull of his chapped lips, and Will's skin wrinkling near his eyes. Mike would know Will's smile anywhere.
Only, that wasn't his smile.
Because that wasn't Will.
"Follow me?" Will asked, and one yellow ray of sunlight punctured the fog, illuminating the tufts of his mud-spattered hair like a halo. It was fitting. If the rest of the town thought Will was the devil, he'd always been an angel to Mike.
And for the life of him, Mike couldn’t remember what it was he’d been so worried about just a second ago.
"Yeah," he answered, treading behind Will and headed for the woods. "Always."
It's the summer of 1987, the town is under lockdown, the people are panicking and praying, and they've pinpointed Will as the one to blame for it all. In fact, nearly everyone seems a little afraid of Will these days, except for Mike.
(Or: Following a desperate ritual to cast the devil out of Hawkins, Will starts acting strangely. Mike starts having dreams.)

Summary
Pretend to be engaged. For three months. To Mike. The boy who lives in the room across from his, who uses his shampoo when he runs out of his own disgusting 3-in-1, who sings along extremely off-key to Bronski Beat while doing laundry, whose face is doused in freckles like tiny stars, whose eyes are dark and deep enough to drown in, whose voice goes honey-warm and soft whenever he speaks to Will alone. The boy he’s been in love with since he was five years old. The boy who rejected him five years ago.
Will pitches forward and vomits again.
————————————————————————
Mike Wheeler and Will Byers have been best friends ever since their mothers landed the lead roles in America’s most popular prestige crime drama seventeen years ago. Nearly two decades later, after a massive PR misunderstanding threatens their mothers’ new lesbian film (and their Oscar campaigns), the boys are forced to fake an engagement for the entire three-month press run to save the movie’s reputation. There’s only two problems: Will has been in love with Mike for seventeen years, and Mike is straight… right?

Summary
For years, the silence in their shared apartment has been a wall neither Mike nor Will knew how to break. The comfortable rhythm of their lives—the late-night reading, the shared creative space, the unspoken understanding—has been replaced by a suffocating, fragile distance.
They had settled into a life of strangers living under the same roof, convinced that moving on was the only way to survive their own unspoken truths. But at 2:00 AM on a rainy Tuesday, the past doesn't just knock; it tears the door off its hinges.
Jane returns, not as the weapon they remember, but as a woman on the run. She arrives with a plea and a child in her arms—a baby she saved from the darkness of a new lab, a life she must now hide. She needs them to be the safe harbor she can't provide while she hunts for the child's missing parents.
In the chaos of diapers, sleepless nights, and the desperate search for the truth, they might find that some silences were only ever meant to be broken.
Or
Eleven returned from the dead and ask Mike and Will to take care of a unknown baby until she finds her parents. And now after years of avoiding each other, they must work together to raise her.
