Summary
Ilya arrived home and discovered his husband looking at a picture of another man in a skirt and stockings. Shane needs to beg for his forgiveness, and he especially needs to beg for his dick.
"So," Shane starts, and Ilya smiles. "What were you saying about what's best for me?"
Ilya grunts. He's more irritated than he thought about the whole thing. "You will have to do better than that," he says.
Shane fucking pouts, then frowns, as if he sees something in Ilya's face before even Ilya can think about it. "I didn't jerk off to him. I didn't even get hard at him." Ilya scoffs. "You saw me. I didn't check his face, did I? It's easier when I can't see the face."
Shane's thumb is still on his nipple and is joined by the index; Ilya's breath hitches. "What's easier?"
Shane slides down from the sunbed. "Well. Imagining he's you, of course."
Ilya discovers his limits and decides they are not strong enough to stop him from giving Shane Hollander exactly what he wants.

“I can’t understand you, Shane. Weeks ago we had this big fight about a party, and now you want to go to fucking Russia? You don’t have to, uh. Compensate for more. How was the word?”
“Overcompensate. If you don’t want to, we won't. I know you have not been going these past years, but it's not the same not wanting to go back and not being able to and I know you're more aware than me about this that will change after summer."
"It is what it is."
“I thought it could be good for you to go back one last time before we do our thing. Which, for the record, I am dying to do.” A beat. “Maybe you have things to get. Friends to see. Maybe,” and saliva trips for a second on Shane’s throat, because the answer to this could be everything or nothing at all. “Maybe you would like to visit your mother's grave and say goodbye. Maybe you would want me to come with you.”
February 2021. After deciding they are getting married in summer, Shane proposes to accompany Ilya in a last trip to Moscow to get much needed closure. Hand in hand they navigate old friends, memories, and family that had been left behind.

Summary
He deserves a prize. He deserves to have Hollander between his legs, begging for him.
The problem with straying from their usual and allowed places to meet is that Ilya knows it's a hit or miss. By now and after all this time, he can only partially ascertain the nooks and crannies of Hollander's absurdly intricate mind. He likes routine and order; he doesn't like when they change the rules, especially if it comes unannounced, or from Ilya. Or both. He has no issues breaking his own, as long as it works for him. But he doesn't do that a lot, either.
Only when Ilya gets him good, desperate, when he kisses him as if the fucking world would end if they don't, does Hollander forget about rules.
What should have been a simple encounter with Hollander ends up being the moment where Ilya has to accept uncomfortable truths about his own desires and needs.
Might take him a while, though.

"Yes, yes, whatever," he says, putting the second brioche inside his mouth. The chocolate explodes, and his lips are just a little bit covered in it. Shane is staring. Shane can't stop staring. Ilya fucking winks at him while he licks some of it from his index.
Shane rolls his eyes again.
"You're a pig."Shane is on the road during his first year on the Centaurs. Being on the same team as his secret boyfriend goes exactly as you would expect.

Shane makes a low noise, his eyes holding a bit of a spark when he looks back to Ilya. It’s what Ilya was hoping for—the tiniest crack in the mask. He can see a hint of exasperated affection around the corners of Shane’s eyes, a little bit of fire burning just beneath the surface. It sends a thrill down Ilya’s spine, and he wonders if Shane will be snarky when Ilya gets him naked tonight.
