Summary
His kids are worried he’ll leave again, his husband is clinging to him like he’s expecting Buck to vanish, and everything just feels wrong, like maybe retiring wasn’t the right idea. He can’t say that to Eddie, though; he can’t tell him he wishes he had never retired or that his calling is to lead his team to war, because it’s not. He wants to be here, but he feels like a foreigner in his own home. Memories he doesn’t have with the kids, front desk ladies he’s never met, a team that watches his husband’s back when he can’t. He can’t help but feel lost, and he doesn’t know how to live a normal life.

After ten plus years in the Navy, serving his country, Evan Buckley-Diaz finally gets to go home and stay home. He's going to be there for his family, support his husband, and never miss another soccer game or science fair ever again. It took too long, but the ambulance arrived on scene, taking in the accident of a fellow firefighter before they moved down. “Ok, this is one of our own, but we still need to treat it like any other car accident. Jones, Garcia, you are heading down to the crash site, and I want to know everything about Buckley’s situation.” Captain Hill of B-Shift 118 instructed his team and watched closely as Jones and Garcia headed down the hill to the mangled, familiar blue jeep. They all knew how important Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley was to A-Shift, so this was about to be the most brutal rescue of their career, and if they failed, they would lose an outstanding firefighter.

The closer she got, the more worried she was. Something wasn’t right. It wasn’t someone pranking her; it wasn’t a shower just left on and forgotten about. It had to be something bad. “Hello?” She called out again, but wasn’t expecting an answer. She finally got to the shower curtain and pulled it back to reveal something she most definitely wasn’t expecting. “Buck!?” He was lying on the floor of the shower, body slack like he wasn’t breathing, his arms attempting to cover himself up, his legs pulled close, but not close enough to be in the fetal position.

Summary
All they had shared were kisses, but it gave Buck hope. He’s had a pretty easy mindset during his childhood and long into his adulthood, but now in this moment, he has something to hold onto. He just didn’t think it would be in the form of the man he’s sworn to protect. The possibility of him doing both is so surreal to him. It’s always been one way or the other. You get the job done and sadly can’t let your emotions get in the way of completing your mission, but is this the only time he’s able to love Eddie and protect him all the same, or will his emotions get the best of him? Only time will tell if he can truly have his happy ending, or if his father will be right and he’ll lose Eddie forever.

Buck grew up as a trained, ruthless mercenary under his father, and his father sold his son's skills to Eddie's father to protect Eddie with his life. What happens now that the threat has caught up with him? Can he still keep Eddie safe? Or will he lose the only person he would ever love because he dragged him into this?

If you may have noticed, I've changed the title of the series because I want to give you the stories you want, but I think the problem is that I put too much thought into it, when I could cut out some unnecessary scenes. This will hopefully help with that.
From now on, any stories posted in this series will be completed, even if they're one-shots or short chapters.

Summary
Set in Season 3 when Buck comes back after the lawsuit, but before Eddie tells Buck about the fight ring. An evening of watching Christopher turns deadly with Buck and Chris are kidnapped by the head of the Italian Mafia, who is pissed that Eddie got his fighting ring shut down. Emilio had been looking to kill Christopher, but Buck makes him a deal. He will do whatever he wants, as long as he leaves Christopher alone. There wasn’t anything that Buck wouldn’t do to protect Christopher, even if that means he has to be Emilio’s personal sex slave and hitman. Buck knows he just needs to hold on until help comes. All of LAPD and LAFD would be looking for them. But so would his old Seal Team Commander Steve McGarrett and Buck knew there was nothing that Steve wouldn’t do to bring them both home. Buck just hoped that there would be something left of himself when that happened.
