A strong gust of wind expanded outwards from the bombs. The kicked up dust and rocks dyed the air gray and Scar lowered himself behind a large chunk of wall that distinctly wasn't a part of the wall anymore. He didn't have to worry much, though. He was far away and had a sturdy visor and a gas mask. Several less fortunate bots were thrown into nearby walls or straight up off the edge of the roof by the force of the explosion.

Summary
After years of torture and pain, Grian finally escapes the clutches of the Watchers. He crash lands on a strange server, injured and panicked. But the players are hunting him, and he’s too weak to fight back. He resigns himself to a life of running and hiding.
Scar is a little mesmerized by the stranger that had forced its way onto Hermitcraft. Everyone seems convinced it’s hostile, but the few interactions Scar’s had with it seem to say otherwise. Maybe it just needs a friend?
_______OR these two traumatized idiots fall not so slowly in love while trying to recover from their messy pasts. But pasts aren’t something you can just run away from, especially in their cases.
There’s other relationships explored as well, but my Scarian heart has to make these two the center of the story.

“How do I know?” The kid spits, knife raised again, trembling violently. His eyes are wet, angry and pleading and piercing right down into Grian’s soul.
“...If I can fly?” Grian asks, confused. His heart is beating fast.
The boy shakes his head violently, taking a lurching step forward, now only a few feet away. Something about his eyes almost seems familiar, but the thought is fleeting. The knife looks sharp. The child is crying, slow tears that barely have an effect on his voice.
“No,” the kid says forcefully. “How do I know you’re not a zombie?”

Summary
The shadows were restless. That meant they were whispering, which meant they were actively getting louder, which meant that Scar’s thoughts had been replaced with the incoherent chatter going on around him. He had been thinking about something important, but he couldn’t remember what it was.
“Would you shut up?” He snapped at the air. “I’m trying to think.”
He didn’t know how many were in there with him. He didn’t want to look. They tended to wander as they pleased around the first floor, whether or not he was in the room—though something kept them from going up the stairs.
Which was completely fine with Scar. It meant he could at least fall asleep in peace, even if he did always wake up screaming.
Or, Scar hasn’t left his house in a while, on account of the constant nightmares, relentless pain, and overwhelming exhaustion. The shadows haunting him aren’t much help, either.
