Every weekend, Peter stays at the Avengers Compound for his "internship" with Tony Stark. In reality, he's either training with one of the Avengers, swinging around the city looking for people in need, sitting and learning from Tony in his lab, or just hanging out with the group of heroes that, behind the scenes, are like a dysfunctional family. This weekend doesn't go as planned for him, though. A struggle he's been carrying alone is brought into the light, which causes brief conflict, but the start of a long lasting connection.

After leaving Hardcour City under the shadow of a career-ending scandal, the widowed nurse is determined to rebuild his life one exhausting hospital shift at a time. With chronic leg pain, a lonely house full of unpacked boxes, and memories he can't escape, he expects nothing more than work, sleep, and survival.
