    Summary

Megumi eyes the papers, heartbeat quickening. He picks up the first one. It’s heavy, thick. Light doesn’t pass through, and the bold title at the top seems to leer at him.

    'Adoption Order', it reads.

    “This looks real,” Megumi says.

Gojo sips on his lemonade. His blindfold is around his neck, and the sunlight snags against the blue of his eyes. He’s beaming, proud.

    “It is.”

Something in Megumi's chest explodes. Shatters. The shrapnel guts him, and his hands work against the paper. He tells himself not to rip it, but a fine tear spreads under his fingers.

“I said to bring fake ones.”

    "Megumi-"

"I don't want this. I told you I don't want this! What the hell's wrong with you?"

    + + + +

When Megumi calls Gojo asking for fake adoption papers, the last thing he expects is for him to bring real ones.

And the last thing Gojo expects is for Megumi to refuse.

AKA: Megumi refuses to be adopted by Gojo, and the fallout forces them to figure out what they mean to each other.

    Summary

"Let’s make a bet. One lesson, my way," Satoru purred in a voice that oozed confidence. "This Saturday. If you truly, honestly, deep-in-your-soul hate it... I’ll pay the full bar tab for an entire month. But if you don’t hate it…"

It was a frankly outrageous amount of money he was offering. Suguru's voice was cautious, suspicious, but he was interested. "If I don't hate it?"

"You have dinner with me," Satoru said, a grin beginning to stretch across his face. "I'll take you to that good shabu-shabu place up the street. My treat."

Satoru is a former pro-skier working as an instructor after a career-ending injury. Suguru is a cute local bartender who wants nothing to do with the mountain and seems immune to his usual unwavering charm. Undeterred, Satoru makes it his personal mission to sneak past Suguru's reserved exterior, even if the guy can't ski to save his life.

    Summary

If Nanami feels irritated by the mocking undertone, he doesn’t let it show, not even through the vein on his forehead that usually betrays him. “You can’t access your cursed energy,” he says. “You can’t use your technique.”

“Full points,” grins Gojo. He starts counting on his fingers. “No blue, no red, no purple, no RCT. No infinity, no domain expansion.” His smile is so wide, it looks like his face is going to rip at the seams. “Like I said: monkey."

    Or:

Satoru Gojo falls from grace, meets his mom for the first time at the tender age of twenty-eight, and forcibly relearns how to not be alone.

He's doing the best he can. So is everyone else.

    Summary

    underdevelopment (photography):
the state of an image that has not yet reached its full form; details suspended, unfinished, waiting for time and care to bring them out.

Two years after they made a life together, mornings have finally learned how to be quiet. The kids are out for the weekend, the cat’s on loan to Tsumiki, and Suguru wakes to the rare luxury of Satoru heavy and unguarded in his arms. They have a house to themselves and plans that involve nothing more complicated than breakfast and staying in bed.

    Satoru’s phone won’t stop ringing.

When a call drags him into a shift that wasn’t his, a catastrophic accident turns the day inside out. Satoru has built his life on saving other people—on being the one who walks in, never the one carried out. Recovery asks for the thing he hates most: surrender. Suguru can keep a city’s worth of facts straight, but he can’t make Satoru believe that being cared for isn’t the same as failing.

Rings that glint in hospital light, marks that fade slower than they should, and the long, stubborn work of learning that always sometimes means letting someone hold you up.

    Sequel to overexposure.

    Summary

“I need you to go to the Gojo’s.”

Suguru nodded, eyes not leaving his task. He knew this was coming.

“They have the strongest weapon of our age. I need you to get it for us.”

“Of course,” Suguru said. He zipped the bag. “I take it they aren’t too pleased to relinquish it?”

Yaga had blown out a sigh. Looked older than his age and nodded. “Mei Mei has been doing a good job of negotiation. We’ve gotten to the point where they will give us an audience. That’s more than we were hoping.”

“Alright. I’ll do what I can."

    But he made no promises.
