"Let me answer your question with a question of my own, hm?" Tay stared at him quizzically before simply nodding. "How come you've been allowed your ring?"
"Allowed? What are you talking about—," he replied even as he peered down at his right hand, his thumb instinctively rotating the silver ring around on his middle finger.
"Why would they have let you keep your ring? Or me my gloves?" Ones dark eyes tracked over Tays face as he spoke, almost as if he could see the whirlwind that was Tays mind.
"Who's they?"
Ones eyes lit up then as a smirk spread across his face. He took a step closer to Tay and suddenly he felt as if he was looming over him. His hand went to Tays shoulder as he stepped up behind Tay, his voice a low whisper in his ear as he spoke.
"Them." He stated it matter of factly as his arm extended before Tays eyes, his gloved fingers pointing off into the far corner of the room as something finally seemed to catch Tays eye. There in the corner of the room was a camera perched high upon the white walls.

“You’re sick. I told you that I’d never be yours.” Tay hisses out between grit teeth yet Ilay’s smile only grows menacing at the comment.
“That’s where you’re wrong. You’re already mine and you know it, don't you?” He scans Tay up and down, his eyes raking feverishly over Tays body. “You’ll forever be branded with my name on your skin, forever be ruined for anyone else.”
Tay shudders against his will at the words and he can practically see the pleasure Ilay finds in his torment.

“I haven’t felt this hungry in a long time.” The man’s voice dropped lower, his gaze darkening as he whispered, “I can’t wait to see your insides.”

“Where’s this place, exactly?” asked Jeremiah, as Bruce backed them into the street and sped off.
“Midtown,” Bruce replied, swerving to avoid a cluster of people that looked somewhat unruly.
“Are you going to tell me what these accommodations are?” Jeremiah pressed. “Safe house?”
“Penthouse,” Bruce corrected, taking the next turn at breakneck speed. “My city residence.”
Jeremiah sat back and lifted the handkerchief, eyeing the bloodstain. At least none was fresh.
“You sure know how to show a guy a great time,” he deadpanned, suddenly feeling drained.

Summary
The first and third stories, “Triage” and “Darkroom,” can be read independently of each other and the rest of the series as stand-alones (but it’s worth mentioning that “Triage” does nonetheless contain events relevant to a smaller plot thread near the end of “Darkroom”). Similarly, the second piece, “The Talk.” can be read as a stand-alone. If you wish to read the last handful of pieces in this series, please note that you'll need to have read everything from “Darkroom” forward. Continuity matters quite a bit, as some of the stories pick up the moment after the previous ones end.
