Actually one of the best MZDS fics out there. I adored the rivals to lovers slow burn, the character development over the years and the modern cultivation era it is set in! The Hunger Games-like cultivation competitions were also super suspenseful and drew you in. Best happy ending I could hope for too. I literally can’t fault anything about this masterpiece!

This was phenomenal: absolutely heartbreaking watching Will’s hope and despair, and Mike’s confusion, grief and want for Mike. The scenes where Will stood his ground and communicated his feelings were both amazing and heart-wrenching. It also had the perfect mix of smut and angst, as well as a beautiful ending. What a wonderful canon-compliant fic that gives S5 the closure it needed.

"Do you ever want-" Mike pauses, searching briefly for the words as Will holds his hand, playing with his fingers. "Do you ever think about like, going further?"
Will bites his lip, the immediate answer being of course, Yes.
"Yes."
"Like, further than second or third base, I mean."
Will feels oddly calm, peering up into Mike's eyes. "Yes."
"Oh," Mike says faintly, a soft smile coming into his face, and not for the first time Will desperately wishes for a peek inside the dark haired boy's mind. Then, "Would you ever want to go further.. with me?"
Or, Mike and Will take baby steps to a big step in their relationship ft. experimentation with gender non-conformity, the freedom and trust that comes with love, first times, technically improper use of a pillow fort but that could easily be argued

I loved this fic, so refreshing seeing the boys openly communicate and be confident in saying what they want physically in a relationship with each other <3 love how accepting their friends are of the relationship as well!

Will thinks this was what he’d been anticipating all night. Sure, he doesn’t feel an actual need to scent-mark, or to experience it… but he thinks he’d like to with Mike. And if Lucas’ smell was bothering Mike that much…
“Okay, fine. Let’s do it.” Will flicks up the sleeve of his shirt on his wrist and holds it up.
Mike’s expression wavers.
“Or, if you want to back out…” Will asks worriedly, letting his hand fall.
“No, I—I guess I just assumed. The neck’s the best place to do it, right?”
On the cusp of presentation, is Will really ready for the changes heading his way? Especially the uncertainty regarding his... friendship with Mike. Or was friendship even the right way to categorise them, anymore?
