Summary
Lightning McQueen has put on some weight in retirement--clearly, this is why he's having an existential crisis, not the unresolved trauma from the car crash that nearly claimed his life. However, when a weight loss attempt backfires, resulting in serious injury, Lightning is forced to slow down. Fortunately, Sally, his friends in Radiator Springs, and Cruz Ramirez are there to support him (and bring him snacks.)
