Summary
This series is a collection of fics that complete the Mysterious Benedict Society TV show that was cancelled by Disney+. They can be read separately but flow as a story when read in order. Mostly show based since that’s what this is based on, but I throw some book elements in there.
They include a lot of stuff. SOS is the one that explores the idea of Nathaniel, Garrison, Milligan, and SQ's birth parents being friends that fell apart. Everything agrees with canon except the ages of the twins, but even canon couldn't be consistent on that, so it was out of my hands.

Summary
In another world, in another Stonetown, the famed scientist, moralist, and ethicist Nicholas Benedict opens an institute of his own. His school is nothing short of a miracle, a safe haven for orphans and runaways and lost children of all kinds, both literal and figurative. The fact that his school happened to be on an island directly across the channel from his estranged twin brother’s own institute should be irrelevant. He purchased the island for 30% off during the National Milk Day sale, okay? It was an irresistible deal!
And yet, through chance, fate, and downright petty shenanigans, the fact that Nicholas Benedict’s school was a mere stone’s throw away from his brother’s would indeed become relevant, and some part of Nicholas knew this. It was why, had Nicholas had adequate time to ponder it, he would have selected some sort of thematically appropriate name for his school.
But alas, Nicholas Benedict did not have time to ponder. He simply panicked.

"I have an old friend," Mr. Benedict says. His eyes are kind and his hands are open. Some people might easily confuse him for his brother, but S.Q. has never made the mistake once. "He maintains a farm, a few hours away by train. His name is John Cole, and he's agreed to let you stay with him, if you'd like. How does that sound to you?"
It is another one of their little talks, the ones that leave S.Q. with creaks in his spine from the tense way he holds his shoulders. Always, always, S.Q. remembers the island and the cave, so he considers each question with no small amount of care, poking at it for trickery and subterfuge. He considers his answers with an even greater amount of caution, like they are a stack of porcelain plates that he has to carry from hall to hall.
S.Q. wants to say no, is the truth of it. His place is by Curtain's side. He had said they could do it together, and he had meant it.
Another truth: S.Q. is very good at being prompted by pointed questions, especially by men with a shock of white hair and green plaid suits. S.Q. wrings his clumsy fingers and says, "Alright, Mr. Benedict."
