It was also annoying because Peter was hurting and sleepy and he had school tomorrow and he somehow had to figure out an excuse to explain his sorry state to his Aunt before morning. And he just watched Deadpool shoot people. So.

Instead of Tony being Peter's responsible-adult-figure, it ends up being Deadpool, who really means well but is a little late to the hey-this-is-a-teenager-who-needs-help party. Weird friendship ensues. -

Wade’s an observant guy. He knows that something fishy went down a ways back near the Statue of Liberty, and that something fishy happened as a result. But once they fixed up the Statue of Liberty, everyone moved on from it the way they move on from every freaky thing that happens, so learning much more than that has been harder than finding Blind Al’s hidden stash of cocaine. And Wade is also a busy guy, so unless he has some reason to care, he’s gonna make like his old man and fuck off about it.
This, though, might be a reason to care.

Weeks passed, his stomach growing louder — the sensation becoming more intense and familiar, the longer he went without an actual meal.
He'd been surviving off three loaves of bread the bakery tossed because they weren't “aesthetically pleasing.” If he was honest, the lumpy bread did look a little unappetizing — but it did the job. Until it didn’t.
Now he was stuck digging through moldy cheese, days-old pizza, and rats that kept nibbling on his fingers.
