Feelings tear us apart and build us back up into the monsters we fear that are hiding under our beds or in our closets. We become the things we hate, and nothing is scarier than losing yourself to the slow descent of madness, spiraling down and down and down until you’re lost to your own mind. Grief plagues you and sadness riddles you. Hatred becomes the reason you live, and sanity is never the same. When trauma hits you again and again, it is hard to get back up.

“So it’s time travel?”
“No, not quite,” Albedo gently chews on his lower lip in contemplation on how to simplify the concept. “The Ley Lines hold memories of everything that has ever happened in the world. It appears that this Ley Line disorder has converged the past memories with our current memories.”
Kaeya cocks his head to the side, “So we’re currently in the past?”
“I suppose you could put it like that, but it’s more like our past and our present have collided.”
“So, time travel?”
Albedo sighs, “Sure, let’s call it that.”
A growing string of disappearing people, a catastrophic Ley Line disorder, a chaotic space and a convoluted Fatui plot throws much of Mondstadt into a not-so-distant past, surrounded by uncomfortably familiar faces.
Unfortunately for Kaeya, this means forgoing a much-needed vacation to figure out what is actually going on, which is quite difficult when a certain Inspector keeps getting in the way.
And all the while grappling with the presence of a boy who looks and sounds like Diluc, but is someone far different than the man that Diluc has become.
Gods, he could really go for a drink right about now.

Sequel to Snare
Kaeya slowly recovers following his near death experience. But he his haunted by his past and the pain Diluc caused him as he hesitated about where to take their relationship going forward.
Diluc tries his best to fix his past mistakes, but struggles with their slow progress and the strain of losing his Vision.
Their fragile new bond is further strained when criminals suddenly start dying in Mondstadt, and every lead points to the Darknight Hero. The brothers have to find some way to work together and uncover the truth before the noose tighten around Diluc's neck. Unfortunately, Forgiveness is not so easily given and trust is brittle when built on a foundation of lies.A dual timeline story following Kaeya's struggles after Crepus's death (and how Klee became his most precious person.) As well as Diluc and Kaeya trying to mend their relationship following the events of Snare.

A group of Treasure Hoarders get ahold of the same gem that Dougier used on his members of the Beret Society. They then use it for their own devious deeds and Kaeya is an unfortunate victim of it.

He leaned back against the sundial, his heavy lidded eyes never leaving the sight of the ruins of Mondstadt in the distance. How did this happen and why did his feet lead him here? He’s too tired to try and remember but he did have a small recollection of a certain bard urging him to come here despite his hesitance. He clutched the deep injury on his stomach as he let out a shuddering breath.
He closed his eyes momentarily and when he opened them again, he didn’t expect for a woman whose body is transparent to be kneeling down in front of him. He didn’t have the energy to ask, he only blinked his eyes slowly.
“Hello… star-pupiled child. My old friend must have told you to come to me as a last resort.” the woman said as she smiled so gently. “Do not worry. I’ll grant your deepest wish and I hope this would be enough to change the outcome of this… dreadful war.”
He felt her hands cradling his face in a motherly manner and he closed his eyes. The last thing he remembered was a soft touch on his forehead and the cool and yet comfortable wind surrounding him in an embrace.

One of the many things Crepus hated being seen as was superficial.

Diluc froze, blood running cold.

Then Diluc heard a yelp. It sounded like Kaeya.

“March 1st, 1063,” Diluc answered without missing a beat. Kaeya’s arms dropped to his side, and his skin grew increasingly pale.
“That’s—that’s not possible.”
“Why?” Kaeya remained silent. Diluc took a shaky step forward. “Why, Kaeya?” The look in that crystalline eye almost scared Diluc. He’s not sure why, but something told him he really didn’t want to know the answer to that question.
“Because father died on April 30th, 1058. He’s been dead for almost five years.”
*****Two versions of Diluc end up in each others' worlds. One where Crepus never died, and one that we know all too well.
