Tommy blinks. Stares. Squints a little.
At the back of his mind, it sinks in that this is a familiar face, a friend.
Who Tommy met two hundred years ago.

Summary
Vampires and humans are able to live alongside each other in peace because of a deal struck centuries ago. Each year, a number of humans are randomly chosen and handed over to be fed on. And in exchange, humans keep their freedom, not having to spend their nights in fear of being killed indiscriminately.
Five years ago, Techno's entire life changed when his twin brother, Ranboo, was chosen in the Selection.
Today, Techno is going to take revenge.

When bounty hunters gravely injured Technoblade, he found temporary refuge in a hybrid community. Initially, the hybrids were equally wary as he was of them, thinking of their own poachers. But their hackles eased when Technoblade pretended to be a bunnyborn. For some reason, the hybrids mistook his endless scars, relentless vigilance, and constant flinches as further proof Technoblade was one of them. All part of the master plan...?
The lie was only meant to last a few days, only meant to avoid death. But as Technoblade tentatively became used to the kindness of Philza, Niki, and Tommy, the justifications to delay running piled up. The lie could last a little longer, couldn't it?

Summary
Mythical creatures were heavily favored everywhere in the world. It was near impossible for humans to work anywhere that didn’t only pay minimum wage and wasn’t a dead-end job.
Some humans, those who couldn’t get jobs at all, had the option to sell themselves into a multitude of cruel and heavily illegal markets. Businesses that would drain a human of most of their blood in order to feed vampires, let demons experiment with their magic on them, have shapeshifters practice shifting by taking their form, or would have werewolves hunt them down for sport.
Even if all of those horrible practices and businesses were outlawed, it didn’t stop them from existing.
Basically, it was hard for humans to survive anymore.
Tommy was human, but nobody knew. Not a single soul knew that he was human and it was a secret that Tommy was sure he’d attempt to take to his grave.

“Who the fuck are you?” Tommy blurted out, before he could think about what he was saying.
The man’s brown eyes went wide, before he burst out laughing. “Well, that’s not the greeting I expected but, uh, I’m Wilbur. Wilbur Soot.”
“You weren’t here yesterday.” He responded in an almost accusatory voice.
Wilbur chuckled, looking around nervously “I mean, that’s usually how people work? They’re not in the same place 24/7.”
Tommy suddenly realized how ridiculous his words were and backtracked. “No, I mean I’ve never seen you here before. This stand has always been empty.”
“Oh! Yeah that’s fair, I’m pretty new.” He laughed, “I bought this stand last week, but it took me forever to set it up.”
He nodded, still wondering about the keychain, the one with Wilbur’s picture in it he found the day before. “That makes sense. Welcome to the mall. Also, sorry about toppling your stand yesterday.”
Wilbur blinked “You did what?”

Summary
One more second and Tommy lunged into the arch. His heart almost jolted out of his chest. He felt the fabric of reality stretch and tear under his fingers. The nausea rose up to the boy's throat, forcing him to close his eyes.
The world finally came back into view as he tripped, falling to his knees. He must've passed out there for a moment. He swallowed, anchoring himself back to reality.
“Are you alright?”
Tommy blinked. The concerned voice was right in front of him. Ah. Great. Now he has to explain why he was in the middle of the woods at night, in the rain and passed out.
“Completely f-” he started speaking, but was interrupted by coughing mid-sentence. "Ahem, Completely fine, big man. Just tripped.”
“..Right. Here, let me help you get up.”
The stranger reached out their hand and Tommy took it without much thinking.
“Thanks.”
Tommy raised his head to finally look at the one who helped him, only to step back in shock, trying to figure out if his mind was playing tricks on him or not.

Aka Tommy's normal life is cut short by the revelation that the cryptids are real. And Tubbo's normal life is cut short by the arrival of a new, oddly familiar demon friend.

Summary
Most people just assume Quackity's wings are naturally smaller, that the sharp arch they end in is by design. Most people have no idea what avain hybrids even look like, with how uncommon they are on servers where flying is banned. So Quackity doesn't get questioned about his wings and why they look the way they do.
